Statement

We ask to stop landfill in the ocean in Tanoura, Kaminoseki-cho, Yamaguchi Prefecture, the planned site of the Kaminoseki nuclear power plant. Until our demands are met, we will conduct a hunger strike.

?In the morning of 15th October 2010, barges gathered off the bay of Tanoura, Kaminosekicho, Yamaguchi prefecture, the planned site of the Kaminoseki nuclear power plant. And constructions are about to begin.
7 Generations walk led the walk from Iwaishima Island in Kaminosekicho, Yamaguchi Prefecture to Nagoya where COP10 is held. The walk started on 25th August, 2010. Total distance is about 800km and took us one month and a half.
The ocean of Kaminoseki-cho is truly beautiful, full of endanger species. This is only intact nature and treasure in Seto Inland Sea to keep for our future generations.
COP10, at the conference of the biodiversity, However, The Chugoku Electric Power is about to force through the landfill.
This is truly conflicted action considering Japan is the host country of COP10.

We ask to stop landfill in Tanoura, Kaminoseki-cho, Yamaguchi Prefecture, the planned site of the Kaminoseki nuclear power plant, in order to have an opportunity to discuss properly and rethink.
